The tripod is small and the legs are thick bendable wires. This tripod is nothing special, it's about an inch longer than the Flip Ultra HD, and unfortunately the FlipCams do not take this tripod to the center of the camera. The hole is located on the bottom left or bottom right of the FlipCams, making the center of gravity NOT directly over the tripod, this is some poor design as far as the flipcam itself. Overall the tripod gets the job done, just be careful because it might fall due to the center of gravity issues i mentioned before. Overall I probably wouldn't have gotten this if it didn't come in the bundled package, but if you plan on putting your flipcam on lots of counters, steps, shelves, or other things that are already elevated, this tripod would probably do wonders for you.
This is a tiny tripod as it appears in the pictures. Be ready to have a table handy at any location you want to record.perhaps take about 10 thick books and stack them. I do not know, whatever will make your videos be at the height you desire. It works very well and holds the camera still, so I would say it is a good tripod.
This is a great little attachment - well worth the $10. Use it to create much higher quality steady videos vs. shaky hand-held ones.Especially in High-Def you can see a huge difference. And it is a standard thread so it will work with most cameras - not just the Flip.
Gave this as a gift - part of the HD Flip. Fast shipping and good packaging.
As a standard tripod, it does everything you ask of it. If you expect to be able to attach it to crazy places and expect it to stay with ease, while you film away, you're going to be disappointed. It stands up, and keeps your Flip still. Just don't let your expectations get the better of you.As for flexibility, it's capabilities are low. While it is useful for more than just standing upright, the possibilities are limited as the legs aren't the strongest grip around. One thing to consider, is that if you have a Flip Ultra, it's not as easy to balance out with the weight of the camera, as the attachment 'port' isn't centered on the bottom. That's not to say that it's impossible to balance, you just have to work out the right leg angles to keep it steady and level. All in all, it's exactly what I needed, just wished it was more versatile.
